Guys for those of you who run NEATV-MX and plan on running at Jolly Roger we were informed that they will be enforcing a 106 decibel limit.

Decibels will be measured as follows: 20 inches off the rear of the pipe at a 45 degree angle away from the end of the pipe at 2000 RPM. They are using a digitron(digital) decibel meter , which can be purchased at radio shack or other electronics outlets.

Marco is being required to do this due to noise complaints from "neighbors" more like nimby's ! This is not an NEATV requirement but get used to this guys as you can be sure more and more tracks are going to have to start doing this

You will be turned away and not allowed to go on the track so bring your tock pipe or buy a quieter one!

Pass this along to your friends and fellow racers

AT 2000 RPM that doesn't seem to bad for being under 106. I'll have to get checked out some how and see where i am at. If any one else gets thier pipes checked let us know how you rate, along with what pipe and what quad.

Also how do you know where 2000 RPM is exactly? Its not like we have TAC's on our quads.

I don't really think it will be that big a deal. I see it as pretty much any exaust will be fine except shorties. But lets hope so anyways.

Jason, how much do these things frun for?

on the neatv web sight they tell you where you can get a dec checker(som auto places) and they say how to do it. I'm runin the ti 4 (fim) version wich is suposed to be quieter than the reg, but, i bought the q. insert just to be safe. almost all manufacters make a quiet insert and don't cost much. i guess its what we gota do:grr:

To answer your questions guys, I do Not know if the Tech team will be doing this or not (Chris give Howard a call).

I never said 90% of you would not pass probably more like 50/50 I said 90% of your riding area/tracks are going to start having sound limits put in place in the next year or so.

I so like the little definition of tact !!!! Thats what its all about guys we are gonna have to give a little to get a little , so if you gotta give up a horsepower or 2 so we can continue to ride then OH well .

Thats all I have for now guys if anything else comes up I will let you know

Thansk ROBB!! One thing if you could post some examples of reading you have seen with certain pipes on certain bikes, that way everyone will have an idea whether or not they're close or not! Again thanks robb!!!

GNCC has been doing this all year. You'll finds tons of info on different quads with all different pipes. 2000 RPM is not much at all. I believe at the GNCC's they have us go to 3,000 or 3,500 RPMs and that's when the sound starts to really go up. HMF with quiet core will go under 106, but a sparks pipe or TC pipe on a new yammi is not gonna pass.

How about a 440ex with HMF not with quiet core?

Thanks,
