Do i have to rejet or somthin if i take off the air box lid? is it worth taking it off? I have a stock 04 400ex.

Yes you have to rejet, and the throttle response is improved a bit and feels like you have a little bit more "umph" if you have it jetted perfect...but I have a pipe so I don't really know if it'll make that much of a difference on your stocker.

Might be just better to leave it on, what kind of riding conditions are you in? (Dusty, wet, mud, regular?)

wishin4ahonda15 I was going to ask the same question ... i ride on sand, will my stock filter get too much sand on it if i get rid of the air box lid?:rolleyes:

Some of duners run no air box at all. Sand is quite coarse, as long as the filter is attached to the boot properly there shouldn't b e a problem. Use an Outerwears for added protection.

No airbox on my dune machine! K&N with an outerwear.

I would buy some jets, an outerwears air box lid, kn filter with prodesign adaptor plate and outerwears on the filter. I will be doing this tomorrow.
