Try some Outerwears material, velcro it to the sides of the box.

Do you think i could flaten the sides down so they are flat then cut a piece of sheet metal so i could cover the top of the box themn use velcrow strips to hold it on. and if i make some kind of lid should i take off my outerwear.

I too used an open airbox with outer wears with velcro. I could never keep the velcro attached, I tried everything from glues, duct tape and even rivets to hold the velcro to the aluminum but to no avail. If you ride in wet conditions I recommend closing the air box cuz the outer wear will not stop water from getting sucked in regardless of how "water resistant" they say. It just won't.

My advice is to close it and use the 2" vent from GT Thunder. Rico's got a pic of one that he uses.

Yeah i know the outerwear was not gone help me through everything. But my question was how would i build some kind of cover for mine, cause thats what i stuck on. If you want more pics of the box i will get some. I really need ideas.

These guys all got good ideas. I would hit up Rico like k2 said. He's got the hot setup for this.;)

Nac's has an actual outerwear cover for the 400ex with velcro already included. It fits perfectly on 400ex size boxes and the glue is really strong. Thats what I am running and its working great. It WILL pass some water through because it is water REPELLENT not PROOF. I dont see how you would change back and forth with and without an airbox lid if you made one out of sheet metal because your jetting would be all screwed up. Unless you plan on always keeping the lid on in all conditions and keeping it jetted accordingly.
