ok im going to be changing my 400ex over to a synthetic oil. i was told that mobil 1 red cap was good. i was looking through the curtis sparks website. in their they recommend to use kendel gt-1. Which is better, im confused now b/c sparks knows how to build some good engines and if the recommend something its usually pretty good.

MOBILE 1 REDCAP is the best......they are prob. paid to say that but mobile 1 recap will most likely be the easiest to find everywhere as it is at walmart & autozone & stuff....

get the red cap. I used it for 2 years and never had a problem.

the motorcycle stuff is not really needed in our atv engines...i used the mobile 1 for almost a year & never had my clutch slip...the red cap doesnt have the things that hurt a wet clutch or something like most synthetics do

sorry but:rolleyes: what does "clutch slip" .. do you mean that, for example you're running on 5th gear and suddenly it goes to 4th gear?... because i've had this problem sometimes while running at full throttle on 5th gear .. plz any suggestions will be apreciated (and by the way I use Mobil 1 oil :D ).

Ahh, don't mess with that Mobil 1 chit, lol!

Amsoil 0w/40 is all you need. I think I picked up a few extra hp just from that alone! ;)

 Once again Jumbo you think everything said on this board is serious.........it's called sarcasm!:o

Amsoil can be purchased at any respectable off-road store, you have to look for it, but it's worth it.:)

Not trying to flame, bud. Just saying that after reading posts you have written before.....well, you seem to miss the 'tounge-in-cheek' part.

Just an observation from a guy that has nothing to gain over this. I'm done here...just my humble .02.:)

First of all, your oil isn't gonna give you 2 hp. Pipe barley gives you that. I don't know about theis mobile 1 red cap but I think it's cxar oil and not for atv's. Just because you haven't had a problem in 2 yrs dosn't mean you won't in 4 more. I use the Pro Honda GN4 bacause it is made for TRANSMISSIONS AND MOTORS at the same time and won't break down at the same time. I hope you mobile 1 users change your oil alot!
