400ex or trx450r?

I dont know if i should get a 400ex and deck it out, or a TRX-450r and keep it stock for a long time. Since its more expensive i wont have money for hop-up parts.

Does anyone know if they are going to stop producing the 400ex?
I really dont know what to do.

Im going to be doing a lot of everything.

If you plan on modding right away, you might as well go for the 450......but either choice wouldn't be a bad choice. As far as the 400ex being discontinued, I don't think it is happening anytime in the near future......

have you ever been on a sport quad before? if not then go with the 400ex & deck it out to your needs...if you have been on one before then test ride a 450r somewhere to see if you will like it...mine is pretty nice but I do miss my 400ex

get the 450R much faster than even a moded 400EX. And no they aren't going to stop producing the 400, they are going to stop producing the 300

Just a thought here guys. Now would be a good time to get a built 400. (i.e. 416's 426's, 440 strokers, etc.) They are going for pretty cheap due to the 450's being released. Hindsight being 20-20, I wish I was in the market for a 400....'cause I coulda had a built one cheap! :grr: :)

450 is definitely faster, but you could get a built 400 for cheap. Just a thought though bud.;)

Hey guys that for your advice, redroost85 has a good idea about the 400ex being cheap. I guess im gonna go with the 400ex cause i wanna do a lot a trail riding.

And sly400ex, we gotta meet up somewhere so i can check out ur 400ex with all those parts, if u dont mind. Im 17 years old.

the 300 is NOT being discontinued..wherever you got that nothing info from...its wrong, if anything honda is going to do some things to the 300 to pep it up a bit;)
