Ok I have 2 sons and one quad ATM. I have a Diamondback 90. My sons are 11 and 12. They are small for there age. The 90 Dback is great for the 12 year old he just likes putting around. However the other son wants to ride all the time and go faster. His hands are really to small to pull a stock clutch in, but he can ride a clutch vehicle and shift. It just is not comfortable.

So I am gonna get him a new quad. Trying to decide whether to get him a new 90 and build the motor up and add arms and stuff or get him a bigger quad. Like a Blaster or a 250ex or Z250 with the auto clutch.

Any suggestions or opinions would be great.

Thanks

i like the trx90, it already has the auto clutch, but you already new that. you can get a used one for a fair price. they are a bigger mini. my son is 11 and tall but still fits on his. we have the extended susp. he will race it next year at 12 then we will go bigger at 13.

there are a ton of mods you can do to the 90.

i would go for a z250 or a 250ex, i got my trail blazer 250 (fully automatic) when i was 12. they are a bit slower than a 250ex stock but they react a lot better to mods.

My 8 year old boy an 10 year old girl both ride trx 90`s but my girl also has a kx80 quad an a blaster. She rides the pee out of the blaster an he rides my yfz450 an a 400ex we have around. An they handle them well. But if their going to race they need to keep the 90`s around.Because most races are AMA an there rules you gotta be 13 to race a 200 blaster - 300ex . So it really depends on rather they just want to ride or maybe get into some racing. It does suck to spent the money on a 90 if there going to out grow it so fast. But kids quads seem to hold a good value.

I agree, it's the biggest bag for the buck!

......and bang too! Sorry BSB64, but you know I can't resist! ;)

Seriously, you can mod a blaster and double the HP as you kid grows. It's perfect for an up and coming!
