Ford 5.4l experts...need help w/ jet chip

hey, and thanks in advance for any help...i purchased a jet performance module on ebay for a 99 5.4 f150... i have an 01 5.4 f150, would the chip still work? would it hurt anything to plug it in and find out? thanks

Check f150online.com I would hate to tell you to try it and then have it ruin your computer or something.

When you do put it in it takes a lot of cleaning to get the silicone off where the chip goes. I had to use some electrical contact cleaner to get it clean enough to work.

i dont know why you would have to mangle your ecm when they sell power tuners for 375 that just plug in line to your data port, you zap the puter yur talkin big bucks. why do you need more power out of the 5.4? are you towing around 4 horses or 33' traveltrailer in the mountains. chances are you dont need it. save your money for when the ball joints go out,:grr: ed

your probably right bulkdriver. i have a cold air intake and full flowmaster duals, and the computer would cost a chunk too. i won the chip for $23 and ill prolly just turn around and resale it
