I might by a Wiseco high compression piston for my 400. My question is will I half to do any thing to the head... Will I half to run race gas? Is there anything I should know about it?

What compression ratio?

I have that piston, 11:1 compression. I run 93. I had the head ported, you don't have to.

It even runs on 87 (It was an accident) It just runs crappier, and hotter.

I am looking at the 11 to 1.....I just don't want the piston hitting the valves....Is it just a drop-in and go or is there any other work I should do....What about bigger studs?

Do a search and check into the JE or Ross pistons. They are a much better quality with more accurate compression ratios. Also the Ross appears to weight less which is better on your motor. Just my .02.

Ya I have been trying to read up on building a 416 and everywhere you read the Wiseco isn't the best to go with. The Ross is the way I personally will go when it's time. It's lighter so it will be less stress on the motor and also it will rev quicker. Just buy the piston, rings & gaskets maybe throw a Hot Cams stage 2 in at the same time and go have some fun!! Thats basically what my plan is. Get a hold of C&D Racing here on the site they will answer all your questions and get you set up. Good luck.
