What do you mean, they are two completely different bikes. Ones for racing and the other is for tearing up opens areas. If you want to mx or xc the 450R is way better than the DS650. If you want to run dunes the DS650 would probably be bettrer, but the 450R would still do great in the dunes. If you are asking about speed, one of my friends has a 650 and another friend has a 450R. The 650 has a slip on, high rev box, and filter, the 450 is bone stock and the 450 laid it down on the DS650. We raced them more than 10 times and every time the 450 won with different riders even. The 450 is a great ride all around like the 250r, it can go in the woods, dunes, mx track anything. The DS650 is way to big for the woods, too heavy for mx, it's only good in open areas.

My friend has a DS650 Baja. He has an 11.5:1 piston, vortex cdi, BajaX swingarm, smaller front sproket, WB E-series pipe, UNI filter/jetting and he runs race gas.

In drag races, once we both get the front wheels down, I take him off the line, and I gradually pull away from him. After 200-300 yards, depending on my shifting, I'm 6-10 quads ahead, still pulling. Yes, he knows how to ride. I'm 160lbs, he's 180. We all know what a DS650 weighs compared to the 'R.

In general racing, he can't keep up, too heavy and bulky.....but much better now with the X swingarm. In open areas, its closer, but I still take him.

His suspension is amazing though. He has Works triple rates, and he can run over a small boulder and not feel it.
