I need a number for a 400ex spark plug so i can get a new one? prefferably NGK. Ca nanyone halp me out?

I personaly run the non resistor plugs in everything because they give a hotter spark

I use the stock # which is DPR8Z. For higher rev conditions go with DPR9Z.

I run the DP9EA. It i supposed to lower head temp.'s buy 5 degrees. That helps on a 400EX.

that is what the dpr9z is suppose to do too.
i actually don't know the exact difference between the Z and EA. my utility uses an EA while the 400ex manual says to use the Z.

D = 12mm Thread Diameter
P = Projected Insulator Type
R = Resistor Type
9 = Heat Rating Number (2 hot - 11 cold)
Z = Thick 2.9mm center electrode Firing End Construction
DP9EA
D = 12mm Thread Diameter
P = Projected Insulator Type
9 = Heat Rating Number (2 hot - 11 cold)
E = 19mm (3/4") Thread Reach
A = Special Design Firing End Construction
I hope this helps. Personally, I only run what the manufacturer or my engine builder recommends.
