I just got Gibson a-arms, with 19 inch axis shocks, with adj, comp, rebound, and preload from K and K. They are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I rode at my track this weekend and they ride so nice, and i didn't smack the front of my frame on the ground like i usually do when overclearing big jumps.
I was told they have 12 inches of travel.

where did you get that pic from?
I see two lonestar frames.........
the one on the bike and the one in the background.

whats up with that?

hey trx........
hows the bumpsteer?

the way those a-arms are made tells me there has got to be some sort of weird angling at certain angles........?????

beerock, that pic is from the kandk webpage.i dont think they are lonestar frames, i think they are the gibson's, at least the red one in the back round isnt a lonestar it doesnt have the little star emblem in the back of the sub frame.
any one who buys a gibson frame make sure you look it over real good before you start to put it together. i found alot of flaws in the one i sent back.

Dave400ex

That is a Nice 250R T-R-X. What are you going to Buy Next?

Quad041, What ever Happened with all your Frame Problems? Did you get a Different Brand of Frame?

what a pain in the *****,
i sent the gibson back, but still havent gotten a credit from kandk yet, bought a lonestar mx chassis didnt even put it together and i want to sell it already cause i found a laeger protrax chassis and a arms.

T-R-X
03-21-2002, 05:04 PM
Thanks, im going to buy front wheel bearings first- they are shot. And then i eventually will get the rear axis shock, and a stronger swingarm- i want to see what the gibson looks like.
And after that get new bars like pro tapers, or tags w/o the crossbar. I like stock steering stems, i think they make the quad feel much tighter. and thats it. NExt season- i want to get the bottom end redone, new seals, and bearings, and get my engine ported and polished, and bore the engine .20 over. ITs on its stock bore right now. I found my r compleatly stock when i first bought it. Then the 89 clutch update kit, then hinson basket and new plates. Then a new top end. I need money though thats the problem. I cant wait to race this year. THe only thing is that NEATV doesnt have Walden any more- that was my favorite track, but Jolley and Southwick will work. I want to also get into D34. And am doing some nationals this year.

I would be Calling K&K everyday until I got Credit back. It`s not your Problem the Frame was Bent. They should give you your Money Back. Where did you Buy the Lonestar Frame? Is this Laeger Frame New? What kind of Laeger A-Arms?

T-R-X, If you do all that Suff to your R it will be very Sweet.

i got the lonestar frame from denton racing, i called everywere and there the only place that had one in stock.i found a used laeger chassis which is a narrow front frame and a protrax front end.

Dave400ex
03-22-2002, 05:48 PM
Quad041, Can`t you Call Denton back and tell them you don`t have the Money for the Frame and Send it Back? It would be easier then trying to Sell it.

I am Happy you are going with Laeger. I want to see Pictures of the T-Pin. Are you going to get a CR-500 Link Swingarm?

QuadRacer041
03-23-2002, 03:05 AM
im gonna try to call denton and see what they say,and yes i will probably upgrade toa cr500 link

Dave400ex
03-23-2002, 03:42 PM
I would think Denton would let you Ship it Back. Did you Ride on it at all?

This Laeger 250r Setup is going to be Sweet. You will be all Laeger.

How much travel do the Gibson A-arms have? More than Houser? and does Gibson have a web site for more information?

Dave400ex
03-24-2002, 09:07 AM

I have the LOBO fron end which uses the same shocks as the gibson font end and basically the same a-arms only the angle is in a different spot. LOBO is real nice and it corners like no other.

stroked a 425:huh

400exRacerX
03-24-2002, 05:48 PM
Yeah, you can stroke any piston. I dont get why you find it hard to belive he has a 425 stroker?

Nausty
03-24-2002, 05:58 PM
no I just don't understand though I beleive him though but it just didn't really seem right. When you stroke a motor it means you basicly get like a longer rod don't you or give it a longer stroke or something like that and I would just figure you would bore it instead. no flame intended or anything but most people they bore it to a 440 and then stroke it. I just didn't think it was that reliable to stroke a motor and would be better to bore it. And seemed odd to bore it and stroke it to only a 425. :huh

Do you have any Pictures of the other Side? Those are Sweet. I like your Motor Setup too.

Where is Fastway? do they have a website?

Dave400ex
03-24-2002, 07:52 PM
This FastWay sounds Good. Where can we Check them out? How many Horsepower do you think it has?

RollAxis400ex
03-24-2002, 08:01 PM
yea fastway does grea work they are out of nj he said my motor is running 48 hp not bad since 28 is stock. The motor flys almost t hard to control cause i cant get it to stop wheeling even with my +1 swing arm. if anyone is thinking about getting there motor done on any quad dirtbike or street bike dean from fasyway is a great way to go

Dave400ex
03-24-2002, 08:05 PM
Wow. 48 Horsepower? Now that is what I`m talking about. How Bad do you Kill Raptors?

NJ300ex
03-24-2002, 08:07 PM

Does anyone have any experience with Dr. bobs cycle shop?

Chef
03-24-2002, 08:08 PM
a 425/426 stroker...isnt that like a 86mm(406) piston and a 4.5 mm stroker?

Dave400ex
03-24-2002, 08:10 PM
Would a 425 Stroker be more Reliable then just a 425 Bore?

Chef
03-24-2002, 09:47 PM
It might not get so hot...and the sleeve wouldnt be so thin..

Dave400ex
03-25-2002, 07:49 AM
How much would a 425 Stroker Cost compared to just a 425 Bore?

400exRacerX
03-25-2002, 07:59 AM
It would cost alot less. For the 425 bore all you have to pay for is $135 for the piston and $30 bucks to get it bored. Thats roughly $165. For a 425 stroker your looking at $135 for the piston, then $30 for the boring, then around $350 for the stroker crank, $200 for a better rod, any machining work thats needs to be done, and if your not doing it yourself than your looking at big bucks in labor. So for the stroker your easily looking at $700 in parts. Theres a big difference in price for a more reliable setup.

Dave400ex
03-25-2002, 08:26 AM
Well there is no Way I am Spending that much for a 425 Stroker. TC told me I would not have any Problems with the 425 Piston. I need to Call TC and see what he says about the Stroker.
