Is this cam made for the 400ex or the XR400? What kind of gains does it give? Thanks!

the 400ex and xr 400 can use the same cam. i currently have a xr400 cam in my 400ex. the HRC cam has some really nice gains for bottom and mid.

Probably the best cam on the market and if your looking for a drop in cam I'd say theres nothing better.

honda part + honda motor = reliable and tested to it's fullest

How does it work with the stock motor?

From what I have heard, it is a very nice gain over stock. Obviously if you want more power, get an aftermarket piston also.

But I will let the more informed people give you a good answer:D

I have one in my stock motor now, and I do feel that I have gained some mid-high power...I don't feel like I lost any low like people said I would. I am not real keen on picking up things, and feeling them though, some may say it fells way faster...to me way faster is a 450...but like I said, it is hard for me to pick up on things like that...Let me hit Budds Creek in a few months, then maybe I will be able to tell you more...the tracks I practice at never allow you to get wound out...

Wow! Isn't that a bit pricey?:eek2:

Is there two models.......one for the XR, and one for the 400ex? Just curious, if so which one does everyone use?

there is the xr cam which is out of the dirtbike and the hrc which is a "hop up" cam for the dirtbike and 400ex. both cams work in both bikes. the xr cam is just slightly more aggressive than our stock cam. it will provide better low end power. the hrc cam will provide better power at higher rpms. so, for tight woods riding and low end power, i would grab a xr. for more power in the upper gears or higher rpms, i would get the hrc. all in all, i would get the hrc for my riding style but i am not paying its price.
