Adjusted valves = weaker?

I adjusted my valves the other day, because it was time and was ticking/etc.

After I was done I noticed my 4-wheeler is weaker.

All 4 were a little tight and I loosen them up to stock specs.

Mods= XR400 cam, piston, white bros pipe, k&n

This is on a 400ex

What should I do?

are you sure they were all a little tight or did you just put them alittle loose?? you need to make sure the next size up on the feeler guage can't fit in. there needs to be more than slight drag on the feeler guage. it is actually somewhat snug in there. if you can push the next size in, your a little bit loose yet. i am not sure what the xr cam specs are, but i have a feeling your too loose. with my camed 400ex, the looser i go, the louder they tick and the slower it is. now, i am not saying go tighter than is recommended, but make sure the next size on the feeler guage can't fit it.

the XR cam is set the same as stock. ;)
