My 426 runs great right now, its an 11:1 je piston, no base gasket and stock thickness head gasket, running half 91 pump gas and 110 sunoco race gas. Im worried about pulling head studs during races. They are fine right now, after break in I re-torqued them to spec and they didnt give me any troubles. BUT, it also eats gas now, I hit reserve about the middle of the last lap of a 32 mile race saturday. And I sure as fudge dont wanna run out of gas during an XC race. Which would you buy if you were me. And who has the cheapest aftermarket head studs?

If it aint broke dont fix it. Unless its already tore down. If you got cash burning a hole in your pocket get a tank.

Get a tank! I run a 440 with stock studs and have no problems. You might want to think about using a base gasket next at rebuild time if you want more reliablity. It won't effect the performance enough to feel.

Or you could buy my tank cheap and do both if your dead set on both.:)
