Cam question??

I am in the process of buying a hotcam stg2 from a friend. Can i use it with the stock motor, i mean just replace my stock one and get performance out of it. or do i need a new piston to let the cam do its job. i dont want to buy this if i am not going to get anything out of it. just need your opinions please so i dont waste my money?

i can't promise you anything since i never tried it. i would imagine all of the power would be at high rpms. if you are only riding in the upper gears or at high rpms, i would give it a shot until you got a piston. if you do a lot of trail riding or tight track riding, i wouldn't do it unless you get a piston at the same time.
