I just recently put a fmf powercore4 full pipe with a k&n filter and a dyno jet kit on my 300ex i want to know how much it would be to put a 330 kit in it. Or anything to make it faster.

If you are looking for more top speed then put a bigger front sprocket on it to help have more top end.

300ex
dg exhaust
dg front bumper
jet kit
k&n filter
front sprocket

just a basic 330 kit with the piston sleeve and all gaskets will run you about 300$-350$

What kind of power does your machine put down?

he says its right at 30 horse, wich i thought sounded kinda low, but- i rode lil-braffs tc330, and my motor puts hers to shame, i can walk away from her in any gear, any rpm.
in a drag race, i'm dead even with a stock z400

my motor is a 350 big bore, gthunder full race port, 11:1 compression, white brothers hi rev cam.
lil's is a tc330, tc gncc grind cam, both have 400ex carbs

Bradly 30 HP for yours sounds about right. Mine dynoed at 39 HP, with pump gas.

39! what do you have, a 380 or something? i wish i could go that big, but 350cc is the limit in the sport class at the gncc's

How much did that work run ya total? I'm looking for a nice 330 or 350 on pump gas.

not 100% sure, i think the piston/sleeve kit was 225, the porting was 200 or so plus labor and whatever a cam would cost (i already had a cam for him to use)

and my kit is 11:1 and runs fine on pump gas:)

Im running a 406. May end up going with nitrious, if I ever decide to go with pure sand drags. With nitirous I could push in the mid 50's, but not sure if I want to take the risks.

You got a picture of it? I'd like to see a 40HP 300ex.

I have some pics of it in process of me building it. http://www.geocities.com/freeitemx/DCP_0410.JPG is a pic of the new cylinder. Basiclly with that, the old piston will fall right through and have around a half inch to move around in it.

HOLY COW $2000 for a 330 kit :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

Thats scary expensive!!! I just did mine for about $125 ;) it's not a 330,probably far from it, not sure what it is to tell you the truth LOL< we put in a WEB cam stage 3, hardened rockers, some porting, 400 carb, & it only has a 75.5mm piston right now but we have a 81mm jug to put in later
But boy what a difference on the top end!! I'm running 13/36 gearing & w/ those mods it'll finally keep up w/ our 400 haven't got to do a full out race w/ Ron yet but I can't wait hehehe, he was very impressed w/ the way it woke it up!!

500 is about right for a big bore kit. The expencive part is how much everything else is. If you build yours right, you will be able to keep up with piped and jetted raptors in 300ft drags.

2000 isn't that far off. My ProFab 350 kit was around 1700 with all the other work and labor included. The kit itself was about 300-350 but alot of the small stuff starts to add up. Truthfully I wouldn't do it again. Its a good improvement over stock for sure, but I'd rather be making payments on a new 450 instead. Just my .02

Why don't you come down to Oregon and find out:). Your gonna need something faster than that 400ex to keep up with me though.
