Arkansaw wisconsin Hairscramble 5/16

This sundays quad hairscramble at Arkansaw was a good time. At the beginning of the race in that section on the side of the hill, some pretty huge bottlenecks happened. Did anyone else have problems on that one section, where your in a field then going back into the woods, there is that huge dropoff, with no warning, and you cant see what is on the other side? On the first lap, i went flying over my bars, luckily, i landed on a soft area, and my chest protector and helmet, saved me from a trip to hospital.

It was a good track I took 1st in B-class happened to get the holeshot and run away with it.The 1st side hill was really rutted and off camber. I passed like 4 or 5 A riders there.They got hung up and I went around and got hung up on a log, jumped off and tried to lift the quad over it and burnt the heck out of my arm from the muffler. Some big dude :macho lifted my quad over the log while I gave it some gas and was off.

That drop off should have had a danger sign there. Some dude crashed there and literally flew to the bottom on his V-force into a tree.

Next year will be better I have 2 others besides me that will be helping make the course.

I wasn't to fond off that off-camber stuff, way too much IMO. I definately won't be running front fenders on the EX next time.

That dude with the V-Force was still there when i went off that dropoff. I just missed him by inches, and my quad rolled into his.
That race was a great time. I like motocross, but they are over so quick, and with hairscrambles, it is balls out for two hours.

that was a sweet *** race!! i loved the track, best place i;ve ever raced at! i finished 3rd in B class and on that first lap it was crazy with that bottleneck on the hill..i got stuck in one of those big dirtbike ruts going up the side of that hill where everyone was stuck but i was able to pull it put pretty easy. i did pass a lot of the A class riders there too and never looked back! so wat quads and classes were you guys on and howd ya do. also wat disrict are you from. ill post some pics later this week, and maybe i'll get my helmet cam video on here sometime!

hey snowgasm what quad were you on? i must off been right behind you on the bottleneck in the beginning, i got 4th in the holeshot and passed 2 stuck guys in our class and i think you were trying to get off a log and like just wheeliing over it with your tires just spinning on it( unless that was an A class rider).. Also that drop off was pretty scary the first lap, good thing i walked the track and knew it was there becuase i nearly crashed on it the first lap anyway.

I raced in the B class. After, i crashed over the dropoff, i had a very sore hand, but it started feeling better as the race went on. I finished 20th. Another hour to start feeling comfortable and, i think i could have taken first. Not bad, considering it is one of my first hairscrambles.:D

That was a raptor or a white suzuki that was spinning its wheels i think, because i was hung up, and i saw a predator fly by me at the bottom of a big hill, and try and go over a log. I think.

ya i passed a lot of guys in that bottleneck (espically A class riders). Was it a black predator that passed you, if so that was me. How did you do out of the holeshot, I remember seeing ur YFZ with the 69 number plates somewhere. How did you like the track? How many laps did you do in how much time?

I liked the track, but then i was talking to people that have raced alot of hairscrambles, and they said the track sucked in the woods because the trail was too rutted, especially on the sides of the hills.
I did not bother me.
Now i am in better shape for mx racing on sundays. I am looking forward to the next, hairscramble on July 31, in Hill City. I wonder if they will do a sound test at Hill City? I did not have my pipe on yesterday, because i did not want to fail the sound test, and not be able to race. Then when they did not even have a sound test, i should have had my pipe.

the rarely ever do soundchecks at district races! thats usally only at nationals.

I got second in B class. I was the on the 400ex with no headlights. I got off to a terrible start, the 400ex didn't want to start. Went into the first turn about dead last. Passed a bunch of guys on the motocross track, and had the funnest woods race ever. Thought that track was awesome, except for the first lap of the sidehill. That was deadly. I never seen so much roost in my life. I got up into the mess a little ways and everywhere i looked somebody was stuck with 30ft of roost behind them. I had a fun time, and i really appreciated seeing barely any steel stakes.

u got second in B? I thought the first two B class racers were on 450r's.. i wonder when u passed me, do you remember passing a black predator.

Nope, i took home second place trophy on a 400ex. I don't recall passing you. I passed several predator's though.

Me, Snogasm, Komatsu kid, & buildinitnow,....Knew there was going to be some SERIOUS CARNAGE @ that hillside!
I got off the holeshot in 4th (A class) got passed by 1 guy by the time we went into the woods,....(was nursing a badly bruised / sprained ankle from the practice riding on Sat.) Luckily the 1st place guy got hung up for a bit on the offcamber, I blazed a new line, & would have passed everyone,...except my quad would not start for about 30 seconds, finally got it started & continued my alternative line, passed all but 1st place there. We battled the rest of the day though, I'd catch him in the turns & woods, then he'd gain on the MX track :mad: The 3rd place guy was always there w/ me ALL day :eek2: .......I could not shake him! In the top field section, on our 7th lap I passed 1st place & lead til the rhythym section of jumps, just before the checkpoint, he passed me there, so I settled in & rode smart for the last lap to finish 2nd.
Arkansaw is BY FAR my favorite track / place to ride!!! They have done & will continue to do an excellent job w/ the land there.
I just wish my ankle was not messed for that race, as we've been looking so forward to that one!
I'll have to try again another day robcat!!!

yep it was me on the 450r
some dude helped me and lifted me over that log while I gassed it.

Dude no offense but you were 2 laps and 9minutes behind me I doublt you could make that up. I have a pic of the results I can send ya if you need proof. 7th place was the last to make 8laps and he was 9minutes behind also.

i also had no cluw were to go when they made us go through the cars, i finally just shot up the hill somewhere and made my own line!
this pic you posted of the B class holshot has me in on the far right on the top on my predator with blue helmet, i was on the way outside on the start but still managed 4th out of the holsehot.
