I am gettin ready to buy an '04 400EX. what should i put on it to start out with?
It will be used more for trail riding with my friends than racing, although it may have its occasional races. :D :D :D

Some of the first things people do are:

ez-pull clutch lever and a brake block off
nerf bars
airfilter
42 pilot
some grind the welds in the exhaust
new bars

I am sure I left out a few items :D

Good plan. Best investment you could make. It will save you money and headaches in the long run.

I would recommend suspension, tires and nerfs before you do any power upgrades. The power won't do any good unless you can put it to the ground.

how much do you want to spend, if it doesnt matter then get some elkas, a tc racing pipe, nerfs, rear turftamers on hipers and front holeshot mxs on hipers
