How are 250rs are they quick, can they beat shees, and how do they do in the dunes?

250R's are extremely quick with mods, and can keep up or beat shee's a lot of the time. Banshee's are fun for the dunes, but you can't ride the bowls, jump, and handle at the level of a 250R, plus they feel and are a ton heavier.

The new 4-strokes are taking over, but before that time the 250r was king of the track, and is still very competitive.

The whole "which is better" comparison is kind of absurd. It really depends on what you want to do. I'll give you some pros and cons.

The 250r is lighter than the banshee, and more nimble. The comparison is almost like a big-block Chevy pickup and a small sports car, like a Stealth. The pickup is very powerful, and will actually beat the Stealth in a drag race, but the Stealth handles much better. If you were on a twisty, winding race track it would require much more effort to make the Chevy pickup to perform well, but the Stealth feels almost effortless.

When you start taking modifications, it becomes a different ballgame. With money, the 250r will beat the banshee in a drag race, but it will require more than a pipe and filter. A good port job and headwork are a must. On the flipside, with money you can upgrade the suspension of the banshee to beat the 250r.

Honestly, I think most people would be better served with a banshee for the dunes. Lets face it, it requires effort and skill to push the suspension to the limits, and most people don't ride that aggressively. They don't care about how fast they can get through the whoops, they only care about how fast they get up the hill.
