I bought my 426 back in December and it has just never run as good as I think it should. All of the mods are in my sig. Racing my buddies stock 400, I will just barely get the holeshot on him. It is ticking right now, and I'm going to adjust the valves hopefully this coming weekend when I get home again. I'm going to check the jetting too and make sure that it is alright. I'm running half race gas and half premium. I don't really want to start tearing apart my motor right now cause I'm not sure how to tell if everything is good or getting bad. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have everything checked over though to make sure I won't have any big problems in the future. I'm kind of low on cash too, so I don't really want to ship it out anywhere. I'd appreciate any opinions though.

you should be eating a stock one pretty good. is your throttle cable adjusted properly? what size tires you running? what gearing? what jetting?

I thought a 12.1 piston required full race gas at 110 or higher..

If you bought it used you may want to check the compression too

Yeah, I know that I'm supposed to run all race gas, but it runs exactly the same with no knocks with just race gas and 50:50. I have 20in tires in the back with the same gears as stock. Can't remember the jetting exactly, and I will check the throttle cable. About how high should my compression be?

Did u buy the quad used with the parts already installed. If so, you might wanna check to see if it even has the parts.

a 50/50 mix with race gas and pump shouldnt affect it. my friend has been runnin 50/50 in his 12/1 compression 440 for a couple years now.
