View Full Version : how does a steering stabilizer work

i know that it takes out bump steer, but how does it do that? and is it the same thing as a dampener?

They are the same things.A stabilizer/dampener work by keeping pressure on the stem and not allowing it to turn as easily from left to right.What the steering stabilezer/dampener does is to allow the front shocks to soak up the bumps and actually do thier job by allowing the shocks to soak up the bumps instead of the bars being jerked around.Steering ease is affected but not very noticable unless you are weaving through tight trees and you have it turned up to the stiffest setting.One of the best mods for any ATV,get the most out of the aftermarket or stock suspension.

Think of it as a shock for your handlebars / steerong, Everything else has been explained pretty good.
