They are not fast ! most are over weight pigs! Suzuki 500 is a very poorly designed machine! proof is the lack of them! If you do have one I am sorry!

A YFZ 450 will smoke one

a yfz also has much newer technology. theyre fast but not reliable and bad handling.;)

I have mixxed feelings about them. Sure they are fast. sound sweet. and you can shove bigger engines in them
But all that power out of one cyl.. they are heavy..
They are the neatest looking ugly quad ever

There ok fast and they have alot of power. I seen some around here at the hill climbs. But they only riped up the hill in like 2nd gera slow because of the big rider on them, stock, and not taken care of.

well since you've rode so many zillas youd be a good judge of this right? their not too bad on the trails as long as their not the super tight variety. yeah their real fast but they take some maintinence to keep em runnin right. stay away from the first year zillas they blow headgaskets like crazy. i think they look pretty decent and their definatley not the ugliest quad ever. that honor goes to the eraser.

ZILLAS are fast no doubt, but like ALL suzukis they are poorly designed, weak chassis, unreliable, pile of crap quads. I have 2 buddies with them and they hate them for anything but going in a straight line. the frame is WEAK, (what a surprise from suzuki), engine spins bearings and blows gaskets like a cheap whore and there are many many other problems with them. They are only good for making drag quads or hill shooters because then they can stay in a straight line! MX? Forget it! XC? forget it!! trailriding? Forget it!!!

naw iv never ridden a zilla, but i can guess it would be too fast for tight spots and you would just hit trees  i never really saw the LT as ugly, i actually like the front fenders, because theres not much of it. you can easily trim them. the eraser is butt ugly imo

then stfu... don't make a post unless u have accurate info... u people don't even own quads and ur on here makin posts about what is better... u couldn't tell the differnce between half the stuff u post about... don't lead people the wrong way with ur stupid posts that have no background 2 them... its really startin to get annoying...

u've never rode a zilla and probably never will... u have no clue what one rides like and how fast they really are... u couldn't tell jack if it was good in the woods or not... u go by what u hear and pass it on...

You guys...chill out. Tommy...Layke does know a fair amt of stuff bout quads, even though he doesn't have one. So what if not all of it is accurate? He is trying. Layke...Tommy was just clearly stating that your information wasn't accurate (may have been a bit more "harsh" but still). As well as some of your other information was not. Just research more before you post then if that's the problem

Well I do know! Quadzillas are a joke! If you want to be the laughing stock of the dunes or trails ,RIDE A QUADZILLA !

xr50layke
05-16-2004, 05:24 PM
they can be trail ridden if you can ride it correctly. anything can.

still not sure what "other information" was informative so i can correct it :o

I cant really say anything bad about them, lets just say there are MANY MANY quads out there that handle better, are faster, and look prettier.

True, you could trail ride a 90 CC quad, a banshee, a nitrous turbo Raptor or anything on a trail for that matter. Some quads just handle better on trails than others. Ive never ridden a Quadzilla myself though, so I cant judge how it is. I want to though:)

I sat on one if that counts! I almost bought one that still had the ORIGINAL SPARK PLUG IN IT! That's how often it was used! Damn I wish I got it!

i never ride a lt500 but I would like too for sure!! id also like to see how bad the handling really is..

RMX500
05-16-2004, 09:01 PM
the handling isn't terrible but it's more of an effort than it should be.

Ive ridden my friends quadzilla and basically I thought it was ok. It was very fast, pretty comfortable, but the vibrations were killer and its handling wasnt the best. It felt like the hole thing would just fall apart under me.

i really like them but many people highly over rate there speed thereabout the same speed as a banshee and raptor maybe a little faster but not much they do wear you out alot quicker then most qauds do tho but overall a nice bike

My dad used to have 2 qaudzilla's.

One of them was an 87 bored .080,Ported by a local shop,FMF fatty, power core silencer,Ram valve.

The other one was a zilla motor on a 92 LT250r chassis.PEP suspension, aftermarket A-arms,swingarm,etc,etc.The motor was built by LRD and had a custom built pipe by them also.

Both of these qauds where fast.Which is what they where built to do.A rush like no other bike I have riden.(I've riden a banshee that does mid 4's in 300ft)

But both of them also had alot of problems.I was riding wheelie's down my road on the 87 and the clutch basket exploded.Everytime we went to st joe the water pump would mess up.The other zilla broke the center cases and the crank all in one shot. Then it was sent to LRD where they rebuilt the whole motor and added weld around the main bearings.Zilla's do vibrate alot but there not that bad.

Basicly if you want a bike that haul's.Is a little different than all the banshee's and other stuff out there. And don't mind working on it a little bit.A zilla is for you.I weighed about 150 when we had our last one and I could kick it over.
