If you look in a stock 300ex airbox, you see a tube behind the filter. Well, I was trying to put my k&n in and saw that it was a pretty tight fit, so my dumbass gets a hacksaw and cuts it off. Now it is driving slow and doesn't go any faster in fifth than second. I wanted to know if this would be the problem, if so, does anyone have a stock airbox to sale?

Ya, I hate that post, It will make a new KnN get all bent out of shape. Did you re jet it when you did this swap? How much oil did you put on the filter?

Sounds like you could've got some plastic shavings in your carb from cutting that piece out. Any time I mess around with the filter off I stuff a rag in the hole that leads to the carb. You may have over-oiled the filter like ghak99 said.

I did rejet when I bought the filter, and if I put too much oil, will it just go back to normal or do I have to clean it again?
