the mobile 1 red cap is the best...it lasts a long time and just very high quality oil

I run GN4 too:D. A lot of people make fun of it, but I've used GN4 in several 4-stroke quads and dirt bikes over the years, and I have never had an oil related problem while using it. I've tried other oils through the years, and I just keep going back to GN4.

For a modified motor, I'd run 20w-50 when the temps are reasonably warm, then switch to 10w-40 during the cold winter months.

What is this Mobile 1 Red Cap? Everyone and his sister use it. The GN4 is made for use is transmission and motor. It is also labeled for Two stroke motorcycle transmissions. Car oils are formulated for just engines and not transmissions. That is why you should not use car oil because it will break down prematurely.

Mobile actually is not the right synthetic oil for bikes. Just run 20w 50 GN4,your trannsmission will thank you.

And how much money would you be wasting? Prob. $1 per quart. That's $3 per oil change. I think I'd rather spend the $3 and Know it isn't going to fail.

I'm running 10W40 GN4. The base oil used by Honda is excellent. Unfortunately the modifyers used to expand the vescosity from 10 to 40 cause premature breakdown. I have been looking for 10W30 GN4 but as of yet have not come across any. I change my oil after every hundred miles or so. This eliminates any problem of breakdown with the Honda oil so until I find something definately superior, I'll continue using GN4 too.

I run the 20w50 GN4 honda stuff and it is great oil. Run whatever you want to run, but make sure it isnt fully synthetic or your clutch will *** out in a hurry. I found the 20w50 doesnt break down as fast as the 10w40 stuff under heavy abuse, but everyone has their own opinion. My vote goes for the 20w50 Gn4.

if the mobil1 red cap is so bad how do so many people use it with great results. conventional oil sucks.
