Look around this forum there is tons of posts about this.

How do you adjust your throttle??

Adjust the throttle. A lot of the times you are only getting 75% throttle if not properly adjusted. On the throttle, there is a little boot, pull it back and back out the adjuster screw until there is tension on the throttle.

Remove the choke and stick a 42 pilot in there. Your quad will start fine and also have more air flow and better throttle response and more power!

When I first bought my 400 I didn't have much money so heres what I did:

1) Modify the stock exhaust by drilling a hole in the back plate and remove the screeen from the spark arrestor. Next grind out the welds in your header (cost - Zero).

2) Add some Uni air box vents (six bucks) and get the K&N power kit (about eighty).

Don't expect it to be a new bike but these definately make an improvement.

what are those air box vents? do you have a pic of them. i was just gonna put an outerware cover on my air box.

The vents are just little black things with foam inside that you drill a hole and then pop them into your airbox lid. You can see them in all the catalogs.
