Nausty

73ft on yz80 back in the day when I mainly rode dirt bikes. Most people I doubt they really jump as far as they say that can and don't beleive it until I see it. quad I dunno how far but it would probably be on this one 5th gear ski jump with just the slope of the hill as the landing and I just float over the ground for a long ways. The take off is going down hill and it just a jump that really doesn't make you gain much air but it is has a lil bit of a up slope plus the downhill. I can't say how far because no one was ever around to ask or that was really paying attention but I don't care.

Umm.. I actually measure this one,the furthest I got was 45ft (flat land) I am kinda afraid to jump, but once I see how it is with the ZPS's I am getting,I prolly will take more of a chance.

Also you know THE WALL,in Huevos4,well theres a lil hill like that where i live, except it is like only a 4ft of vertical, and I hit it in 2nd gear3/4 throttle, and I get about 6-7 1/2ft straight up,a nd flat land it,its soo awsome, but i bet its not to awsome on the stock shocks and all, hehe

...lets see before my wreck we were hittin this jump..i stepped out 18 steps walking normal...when you think about it there's about 2, 2 1/2 feet in a regular walking step so do the math...

18 ----steps
x2 -----feet in a step
---
36' ----feet tottal

we were landing in about the same spot each time anyfurther and there's this 2 foot drop (it's another jump coming back up) and it's at an angel land on that and i'm in for a ride...."BUT" i have found a better jump since then and my collor bone is getting stronger haha yeah....i have a feeling i'm ganna blow em' here soon...yeah

hey juggalo i think you got me and my brother beat on one thing :blah the farthest i have ever gone was probably only 90feet off of a step down jump, but it is off of a 25 foot cliff :D

Nausty
03-20-2002, 05:20 PM
I don't think you realize how far 90ft is and 25ft is like a 2 story house you know.

Built a 50 foot double last weekend, it's awesome, but it's kinda rough on the stock suspension. The first time I jumped it, I overshot it by 8 feet.. ouch!

ivejumped about 50ft on a 125 and i have no clue on my 80 about 35

I've done 70 + feet on my 400EX when it was bone stock. Came down from like 10 feet to a flat landing too. OUCH!

why is this in the body forum??

nausty, i know how far it is and how high it is. its actually a 75foot jump, but the wind was behind me that day. didnt turn out so good. its at our gravel pit, it quite the leap.

Juggalo
03-20-2002, 07:36 PM
haha sweet. this jump was nothin though. let me describe it. there is a long road with nothin else around it (its part of a new subdivision their building) and then its a dead end right where this big field starts. and theres this little mound of dirt there. so we would go way down the road and hit that little jump topped out. you'd fly so far even though you were barely off the ground. heres a pic of my friend ben doin it. see that thing in the feild? thats his little bro and he landed pretty far after him. sorry about the crappyness of the pic my digital camera is a peice. also the jump actually starts about 8 feet back from where the pic starts.

03-21-2002, 07:12 PM
but still ,do you knwo how far 150 ft is? thats huge, think about if the jump is 8 ft back its like 30 from the jump to the guy out there maybe more and youd be goin 5 times that, farthest for me is probaly 35 ft

Nausty
03-21-2002, 08:09 PM
yeah jug 150ft is like 2 or 3 times farther than where that guy is standing. not flaming or anything but you would have to hit that thing going like a 120 with that degree of a jump i would think. Are you sure it is 150ft cuz that is a very long ways.;)

Juggalo
03-21-2002, 08:32 PM
well i'll admit we never measured it but i DO remember that day very distinctly and i DO know how far 50 feet is because i jump thise one table top thats 50 feet all the time. and lookin at that table top and examining those pics it should be about 150 feet. the takeoff is a bit back off in the pic and he did land about 15 feet after where he was standing too. no offense taken but i still think it was about that distanance but a little shorter.

Nausty
03-21-2002, 08:59 PM
well also realize that most rooms in a house are about 20-30ft long too.;) thats what helps me.

I used to have a stock BLASTER and at silver lake I was jumping test hill and landing on the backslope of the NEXT hill. then the C. O.s told me to stop cause I almost landed on someone's truck and they complained.

I don't mean to be the stupid one of this conversation but Red Rooster theres no way in this world u jumped from comp hill to the next dune line. those dunes are like 4-500 ft apart! i've been to SL about 50 times in my short life and i know thats not possible. maybe i misunderstood your comment but if i didn't, no way anyone can jump that far, espicially on a blaster.

but this the best one because when my dad was taking the pics I wasn't fully commited to the other jump and only jumping half way. I was botteming out hard on some of the jumps and I really need better shocks. haha oh and this isnt my farthest jump. On a quad it is about 44ft and this one is only like 25-30 and keep in mind on that table top it was the top part of it and add another 4-5ft for the higth of the table top because I was landing right at the end of the down ramp sometimes.

03-24-2002, 08:17 PM
i dont really look at how big the jump is whenever i race but ive done a 90 foot table top and a 70 foot step up ....the only thing that im scared of when i jump is rackin my self :huh

Ryan-WB440ex
03-25-2002, 03:58 AM
farthest i have gone is around 70 feet off a double that was only 30 feet to hit the landing! i had never done it before and i didnt want to run into the back of the landing ramp so i smoked off it wide open in 3rd and cleared it by more than twice what i needed =) it was flat tho so i hit hard and smashed my knee up good and hurt my wrist but i hit it again till i got it right! i only needed to hit it at 1/4 throttle in second gear. :blah

Nausty
03-25-2002, 09:23 PM
70ft in 3rd gear??? Seriously though 70ft is a long ways I hit that jump above that I got above 3rd gear pinned but I might of still had a little bit of acceleration left but just to show that pic above is like 35ft max. your saying your jumping twice as far in 3rd gear? No flame or anything I just don't think you relize how far it actually is.;)

03-25-2002, 11:56 PM
i got a 65 footer in the backyard..havent got the nutz to do it yet but i think it's only gonna be a 3rd pinned jump..it's all on the lip

I think that any person on this site who has a 250ex and says he jumped it between 50-60 is retarded. Or they cant count. By the way, my farthest, smoothest jumpis 65ft. I gone farther but did some flat landing or on table tops.

IT IS VERY POSSIBLE TO JUMP FEET

03-27-2002, 01:05 PM
I said ive gone 65ft smoothly and have gone alot farther than you'll ever dream about doing on your 250ex. Try getting a real quad and quit playing around with kids toys.

i agree with you nausty, alot of people who say they are going so far only really feel like they are,,, we have a 20 foot aluminum cattle trailer, when im estimating jumps i just picture how many trailers i could fit in between the gap, i know the trailer very well.....lets just say some of these "50 foot" jumps wouldnt even hold one of my trailers

i mean, even people who have motocroos tracks arent always accurate , the race i went to sunday had a "100 foot" table, it was big, but maybe 80 feet at most..i guess there considering the length it takes you to get up to speed and slow down to:rolleyes:

ive jumped maybe 40 feet, and thats real "footage", even if it doesnt sound impressive

yah I used to think the same when you are in the air. Sometimes it feels like you are 20ft up in the air but you are really less and they freak out and think its a huge jump but really they just arn't use to big jumps and can't gauge how high they really are. And think that they must of went 50ft.

hey you guys from iowa, what are you doing over the memorial day weekend???? im trying to organize a big ride up here in south minnesota. i have a few riders so far, 2 pro riders and we are talking about having a freestyle contest. the jumps ARE 65-70 feet, huge gravel hills, and tons of trails too if you want to come and just screw around that will be fine too, im sure there will be alot of 4x4's. but i'll try to get ahold of some of the local riders and some other guys i know from out of state. would be cool to ride with a bunch of ya from here. email me if you are interested.

we have found a really sweet jump. But its not really smart to do bacause its over a sherriffs driveway.I wish i could stop and get pics one day but i dont want to even think about stopping there after jumping his drive way.Theres a two or three mile shot on a old train track that they removed with about 5 or 6 driveways on it.All of em are blind so you have to slow down unless you want to risk gitting hit by a car.All except the sherriffs,so we all ways go through kinda easy on the way there.cause the trail ends a few miles later and we come back the same way.And on the way back theres enough room to wind out 5th comming up on his driveway. Its really smoth comming up both directions so you can hit it as fast as you want.Only about a 3' lip on a 45% angle or so.I hit it in 5th for the first time last weekend and (for me)launched off it.May have went 6-7' high but went along way out maybe 60-70' could have been more.i know it was the hardest i ever hit it and it was awesome!I did bottom out the shocks(stock)for the first time on it.

about 3 ft and a foot high.
Keep in mind I was breaking in my Raptor, 2nd gear 1/4 throttle (The jump sucked).

03-29-2002, 03:39 PM
I don't think it is possible to jump 150 feet when you are only 3 feet in the air. A physics aquation would probably say that you had to be going 175 MPH when you hit the jump.

Back in the day when everyone around me(including myself) had 80s we had this jump at my friend's farm that evolved from 15ft to 50ft without changing the takeoff at all. After it got past about 30ft i stopped hitting it. They kept extending it until we measured it to be 50ft from the top of the takeoff to the end of the landing. No one had ever hit a jump this big before!!! This one kid decides he wants to hit it first because he always has to prove himself in front of everyone. He goes in maybe 3rd gear and he was bogging it pretty badly. Everyone thought that he was just going so slow just because he was going to roll up and down it for the 100th time. To everyone's suprise he didn't back out at the end to slow down to roll up! Once his back tire left the takeoff, we all knew he was going to case it, and case it hard!! The base that we used for the landing was a whole bunch of wooden planks. We would put the planks down where we measured the length that we wanted it to be. We would cover these planks with dirt and then shape them into a nice landing. ANYWAY, THIS KID HIT SO HARD THAT HE BROKE THE FIRST 3 5-INCH THICK PLANKS ALONG WITH BOTH OF HIS ANKLES!!! We took him to the hospital and there was no more riding for a long while for him. :D . Now no one has dirtbikes anymore! The farthest jump that I have ever done is 35 MEASURED feet. You can see this jump in either the january or febuary issue of dirtwheels. Its a picture called Optical Illusion. It is a picture of my friend(honda400zx) jumping this gap with a Gehl bobcat next to it but it really looks like he's jumping over it. There's your book.:D

Me and my buddies found about a 10 foot step up the other day. So this one kid that hadn't hit it yet rolled up on his 02 piped banshee. Without watching us, he hit it to the left in wide open 4th. The back end smacked the lip and bucked him a good 20-25ft. He was okay but does that qualify for the longest jump not attached to a bike?

You seem to be worried about people lieing... I ride at bluff all the freaking time. I can clear every single jump out there on my what... 300EX... now.. lets see a 250EX is almost as fast as a 300. with about the same crappy suspension. I still have stock suspension and everythings going all right. Now I know that the big jump is 55ft and I can easily clear it with room to spare in 4th gear. So I wouldn't put these 250 exers down. I am tired of reading your crap about not believing people. So get over yourself Nausty... Ohh yeah and nice post count jesus.

yah i would beleive it if I saw it. When do you usually go down there? Maybe you can meet me there some time and i can watch you clear BOTH of the big jumps with "room to spare" like you said. And if you have such a problem with me, whiner then put me on your ignore list and you don't have to worry about it. Really though when do you usually go down there and explain exactly what your quad looks like so I know its you. I REALLY want to see you clear those jumps on your 300ex. To be honest I havn't seen one quad so much as come close to clearing it besides a banshee I see there with nothing but handling mods and it has a bunch of chrome on it in case you've seen how good of a rider he is. And btw that banshee hit that jump pinned as fast as he could and still came up short and the long table top that drops down and then rises that is by the side of track that is closer to the really wide trail that leads you to the track or the parking lot but the banshee can just land on the top of the landing because that is the most speed he can get to hit it and he hits the berm perfect and goes through the gears perfect and he's a A rider. You must be a pro:rolleyes:

quad041, me and my friends built a jump almost exactly like the one in your pic, the take off was a little bigger though,,,,it was huge, only 1 person jumped it, and they came up short, lets just say there lucky the landing hadnt bee packed down, but my point was, it looked huge like 70 feet maybe,,,, but in reality it was far far smaller like maybe 40 or so ......a 20 foot double is alot bigger than it sounds, my best was yesterday, jumping about 35-40 feet, it was a double, i was in 4th gear going FAST:devil

i wish i had some pics of that jump, but we have pics of it when we converted it into a step up where you can tell where the double was

If you said 50 feet long and 3 feet off the ground i would think twice. at 150 feet being only 3 feet is utterly impossable, especially with flat ground like in that photo, trust me theres no way.
i love airs, i get air with every thing i do,
plus not to mention your a kid, yeah sure you can whellie like its a joke, it doesnt mean your the jump master. its like a 12 year old rapper rapping about how hes been around the block with every girl around.

Juggalo = 100% claimer

personaly ive jumped about 3-4 feet tall and 10-13 feet in distance. for now im taking it easy and learning body motion in the air,

Take it easy on him I just don't think he understood how far that jump would of had to of been and its hard to tell how far you jumped when your ON your quad and seems like your going a lot farther than you really are sometimes.

if he's a 100% claimer explain this? i doubt he's a "claimer", cause if he was, then this sport would be a joke, WHICH IT ISNT! :macho http://209.120.142.52/attachment.php?s=&postid=95827

i come back to this post and see every1 talkin a lot of poo poo about me. thats not nice but thanks for the support cinq and nausty. anyways you guys were right. and i was wrong. see i THOUGHT i knew how far 50 feet was but boy was i wrong. this weekend while at my friends house (the place where that pic of me was taken) we built a track out there. and we took that table top that i'm jumpin and added a ton of dirt to it and chopped out the middle. well i thought that table was 50 feet before (we had already added on after that pic was taken) but evidently i was wrong because after we added all that dirt we measured it and it was only 40 feet from lip to the beginning of the landing. i felt kinda ripped off but oh well. anyways now that i look back on those distance pics i realize it was probably about 70 feet (and that might still be exxagerated a little) we were jumpin and we were probably 4 and a half feet off the ground. well i hope i cleared it up for you all because i wasn't trying to make any claims. i never have and i don't plan on ever doin it either. i really thought we were jumpin that far! so anyways, oh masters of critisism, you were right and i was wrong, i beg for your forgiveness. :p

Him being a claimer and this sport being a joke are 2 completely different things, i still think hes a claimer, and this sport is no joke.
excuse me for being one of the only few to bring up reality. but 70 feet and 4 and a half feet off the ground is still quite a overshoot. im personaly betting hes hitting 45 feet maxx.
Jug, get a tape mesure, the longest distance you can find. get a friend and go to that jump, mesure out to 70 feet, using the tape mesure sevral times as far as it well reach untill you come to 70 feet exactly, now on that mark, make a very large, bright, easy to see marking signifying how far 70 feet is so you can see if while your in the air, jump that jump at the speed your thought was making you travel "150 feet" and tell me how close you got, infact have your friend tell you where your tire landed, mesure that to the marker,
i would love to hear the actuall distance.

lorduss, the jump is no longer there. they built a road were it was. like i said their adding on to our neiborhood out there. anyways i don't really care what you think about me. if you want to believe i'm a "claimer" because of some stupid jump then so be it. what really matters is what people think of me in real life and in real life i don't know of one person who has even close to the same opinion as you. now i'm just starting to sound stuck up but thats not the case either. anyways the point i'm trying to make is, this is the internet, why start a war over something as dumb as what a person says on the net.

The furthest I ever jumped was about 125ft+ on a bone stock 100xr honda dirtbike I was on a hillcimb I went down a hill then hit the other side(the hillclimb) and went up it in 5 th gear then shot off the top and flew what felt like 4ever came down on the rear end and bent my axel broke 9 spokes and almost jammed my shock up through my rear ha ha I know but it wasn't fun paying 4 all the replacement parts

I'm sorry, but can we please ban the use of the word "claimer"? It just really bugs me for some reason. I dont mean to be a playa hata here, but lets not talk like we are in the ghetto.

hey guys, sorry if i seemed to come off a little rude, ive had the flue now for 3 days so im far from felling my best.

im just personaly a person that belives in being realistic, afterall your having a contest,

RideRed04: you want the world *claimer* to be banned because you think it sounds ghetto ?
im sorry, i got a beef with this

do you even know what claimer means ? about all i ever used to do was surf, cause there wasnt realy any thing else to do,
ive spent quite a few years listening to people *claim* about how huge and perfect the waves where, when they were so far off its pathetic, when someone just pulls a answer out of his butt and tells you without taking about half a minute to think about how big it actually was. thats when there a claimer where im from.
i cant realy rember ever telling hardly anyone that they where wrong, i just listen and move on, and know that persons not creditable till i see him make a good judgement on waveheight. or conditions. theres a few other sport communites im sure that use the word claimer.
but alone from that.

Claimer is not a cuss word, its not dirty, its just another word out of our dictionary. and you fell because you dont like it you want to take away that much more of my freedom of speech ?
well thankyou for being a prude. start taking away words like ****, damn, and claimer, thats just getting out of hand, i can understand taking away cusswords, but lets be realistic.

Ghetto ?? what makes claimer so ghetto ? and why do you even care if some thing is *ghetto* ? ghetto is a lame word if you ask me, whats wrong with some thing being ghetto ? whats wrong with the ghetto ?
im couris

redride: dont be sorry man its cool, i know completely where your coming from, im only 18 so im still a kid my self, but ive been online alot to say the least in the past 7 years, ive been apart of a lot of online communitys. some very simaler to this one in subject matter. its sad when you have a forum of 3000 people, and half are under the age of 15. but reguardless of age, as long as you can be a mature, i got nothing to say.

letalone, people cought up in image are anoying, i dont see why people who like rap, dress like rappers, or talk like rappers, or realy this gos for any type of music,
i like rap, reggae, and a lot of different types of music, ill still put on my surf trunks and a t shirt every day and be my normal self, i have no reasion to try and be anyone else.
no offence taken, i hope i didnt realy offend you eather.
