i just got a used lsr axle that was only used twice. ive heard rumors about the sprocket hub so the first thing i did is see if there was play in it. it move just a hair. is this just the normal way it fits or is it all ready starting to strip out? when i say it moves a little i mean just barely. should i be sending this thing back?

I just noticed mine has some play in it as well, it doesn't have alot of ride time on it either.

I belive the warranty only covers bending and breaking:(

Well since my day started out like poop i might as well ruin someone elses too....:(

There is no warranty for that issue. The new sprocket hub is $130. don't expect it to get worse on the next ride out. It took mine around 2 or 3 years to get to were it was pretty bad. I figured since it was jacked up and I wasn't about to pay the 130 beans to get a new one, It got loose enough that I could remove the clip, beat the hub off, covered the splines with JB weld, beat the hub back on, put 2 clips back in the groove of the splines for a secure fit and it's been fine ever since. You can also find a stock axle, get the hub off of it and put it on the LS axle too. Those are the 2 cheapest options you have I believe.

well i was just wondering if there is usually any movment at all when they are new. if this one isnt very good then ill send it back and get a new one. but if its normal then ill just keep this one.

There should be zero movement in the hub.

Since you bought it used, no matter how many times it was used, I doubt LSR will replace it. Their warranty is for bending and breakage anyway.

It's looking like RPM will be getting more orders......

I wish I would have went with a RPM! Mine is really bad, but i have another lsr axel, with a steel hub, and I am going to switch them soon. Then I think it should be fine.

This is a good thread. Just wondering who else makes a good sprocket hub...that, say can be used on stock/LSR/Durapimp, etc...axles?

Besides RPM, I mean. Thanks for the heads up guys...I almost bought one, lol!:( :)
