300 woont start

i have a 2002 300ex i went to go started it up and it started right up i wnet go to put it out front forsale and it would start after i shut it off theres notihng there i played with the light swith and i hit it and it started up but after that iit swas odne theres notihng there
i shut it off when it was reved a little bit is that tthe problem.

i started up my 300 and it started right up and i shut it off for like 30 seconds and when i went to start it again it didnt even turn over. so i meesed with all the swithches by the starter and when i turned the light off it started up after i banged on it a couple times and when i turrned my lights on after it was started it cut out.

Hmmm... start by checking your wiring. Sounds like you have something grounding out. Make sure you don't have pinched wires.

i checked everything i cant find anything unless i missed something. i havent riden in awhile and im starting to get a little pissed.

blow a fuse, any wires come undone?

i'm not sure of what this part is called but i'll explain it the best i can, up by the gas tank there is a tube where wires connect, its about 1 1/2 inches long, it should pull apart. take that apart and see if any of the brass fittings are broke, thats what happened to mine and it wouldn't start. the brass fittings should be rather small and should look like U's. i don't know if this is what's wrong with it, but you can check it.

hey this happened to mine. there might be a wire loose right under ur engine and if thats loose then u need to take it to the shop theyll fix it or u could find were the wire goes and put it back on

or charge your battery for about 5-6 hours, mine does that same chit alot...damn 300's...lol.. if i leave mine sit for like a week, my battery will be low and it will have trouble starting

i ley the batter charge for a little while and it says the abtteyr is totaly charged. i can pop start it. the neutral light and the reverse light wont come on i will try all this stuff.

i fixed it it was that litte wiore harness under the gas tank there were a few tabs broken off in there so i re wired the while thing and it started rigtht up.
