250R radiator shield?

Just bought an oversized R radiator for my YZ426 project, and I've got a question. Can I use a stock 250R radiator shield to protect the front of the radiator from rocks, dirt, etc.?

I used the stock plastic grill on my PWR radiator.Works great.

i believe it should work... a louver kit is also a good idea, it directs more air as well as protecting and keeping mud off the rad..
