I need some advice regarding shocks in general and for my 450r. I have the stock shocks on the 450r and I'm still taking a beating on jumps 30-50 ft and 3-4 ft high landing on flat hard-packed dirt. I think the rear shock may be adjusted correctly, but I'm still getting some super extreme head whiplash in the forward direction when I land.
1. I've heard most shocks aren't really setup properly for a 200+ lb rider when they are stock. I see guys that are 150-180 lbs jumping and they don't seem to be taking near the hit that I am.
2. I'm wondering if the head bobble/whiplash thing is being caused by my front shocks being to stiff. My landings favor the rear shock 95% of the time, but I still get some pretty bad whiplash.
Right now, the shock settings are fairly close to stock. The front end seems pretty stiff though, I'm guessing that I'm not getting the full travel out of the front shock and need to soften them up.
Any help is appreciated. My neck is a sore mother today, HAH !!!!!! :)
