I live in upper wisconsin and we get quite a bit of snow, so we ride all over the place on lakes and rivers and what not, and i was wondering if anyone has used sand tires in the snow and how well it works. If they work would it be a good investment? thanks guys

True. I use a set of Mudmachines for the snow on my 300 and they are awesome. I was asked by a neighbor if I had 4 wheel drive last winter. Quite a few people have said the sand tires don't work as well for snow as you'd think.

i rode this past winter everywhere with my sand paddles in the snow. it was the only way to get around it was so deep.

i have heard that sand tires get chewed up pretty good from the snow and ice. is this true?

I think the snow tires would be the best. Mud tires are offten so stiff that they crack or break from the cold.

DO NOT GET MUDSHARKS FOR THE SNOW THEY SUCK i ride with 2 kids that have mud sharks and this winter they got stuck everywhere!!!!!!! i had no problems with my holeshot xc's belive it or not. for example we were ridin on a trail one day and come to a pretty steep hill and my buddy with the mudsharks could not make it up the hill (i even tryed on his quad so it was not the rider) so he rolled down after only making it up only about a quarter of the way and i went up it first try with the holeshots! who says holeshots suck in the snow?

400EXRider2005, where in Wisconsin do you live? You said upper...are you anywhere near Grand View, Hayward, or Ashland?

I was also wondering about the whole sand tire idea...I want to get some for my Banshee, holeshots weren't quite cutting it last year:rolleyes: .

I ran my Holeshot XCR's last winter, and they did pretty well. I was considering buying some paddles for this comping winter, and I am going to look into the GBC paddle masters:cool:

my 250x with holeshots went up a hill that a 4 wheel drive quad had to turn around!
