Ultimate 4 And Edelbrock Carb Problems

Just wanted to know if anyone else is having a problem with the Ultimate 4 race fuel gumming up the Edelbrock carb, making the carb to stay open, I tore the carb apart today and inside the carb was a sticky oil like substance on the slide and accelerator pump shaft , causing the accelerator pump shaft to stick.

not fun going into a corner and not being able to slow a little :eek2:

Let me know what you think .. and what race fuel your running with your Edelbrock carb.

it does this to both carbs , the Doug Eichner and the QuickSilver 2 carb.....

I was going to run this in my 400EX and YFZ, but found that it's only good for stock compression engines, and not high compression. I'm running 110 octane in both of mine, but I did used to run Ult-4.. I personally like the 110 better.

I run have run ultimate 4 for over a year now and have had no problems. I also dynoed my engine with VP C-12 and U-4 and with the U-4 I gained over 2 h.p.
