does anybody know the part number for the gasket that goes inside a splip on (Yoshi in my case) so when it clamps to the header pipe it will stop exhaust leaks? Mine fell apart when I took my pipe off. I tried service honda but need a part number.
thanks.

it's an OEM Honda gasket that closes the gap between the stock header and the slip on.

Go to your local HONDA dealer. They will give you the part number and sell you the gasket to. You will have it by the weekend that way.

for 99-02: 18392-MK4-000

for 03-04: 18392-HN1-A20

what is the difference? i have no clue! i am wondering if they either changed the material of the gasket or the header was slightly modified.

It should be in this breakdown:
http://www.servicehonda.com/hard%20parts/atv/trx400ex%2099-04/muffler.jpg
Go to "hard parts" on service honda, click on 400ex, and then click on muffler on the left side menu. The part number is on the list under the breakdown. I'm guessing you need #6. If so, the Honda part # is 18321-HN1-000.
