An honest Hiper question

I am in gonna be in the market to be buying some Hiper rims for my 400ex and I think I have what I want in mind. I have the fronts narrowed down to the 10 x 5 single beadlock but the rears I am unsure about. I race mostly mx and I have heard mixed reviews on the 8" and on the 9". Which would work best for mx? I dont know alot about the integrated hub feature either. Is that an essential item with the rim or is it possible to have the 8" rim without the hub?

Hiper only makes the 8" with the hub. There isn't enough room in the 8" rim to put a conventional bolt pattern, For mx I would run the 8" rim
