Banshee vs. Harley

Ok last night i was at a party and talking to this guy that thinks his harley is so badass. so i couldnt resist to tell him that my bros banshee would beat it. he says that he got the motor maxed out and i wanted the deatails about it but he just said its maxxed out. quater mile drag by the way. my brothers bansee, vetos 404 big bore kit, port and polished, 35mm carbs, v-force reeds, cool head, toomey pipes, motor done by pro fab atv, plus the axle and other ****. ****er will screamm! and yeah theres a case of beer on this to. so what do u think whod win??

Harleys aren't that fast......I'd say Banshee

it would be close.. some STOCK harleys are pumpin out 60-90 HP stock.. we were at a harley shop and they were tellin us.. a stock fat boy puts out 90 sumthin..

I would say that would be close as hell. But the banshee would probably win, but give it a little longer and i bet that harley would come screaming past.

The harley might get it in the quarter. Anything shorter I think the banshee will win.

I think the Banshee will take it. It's lighter, revs quicker...and has all that work done to it. Try racing 1/8 mile...

my dads got a road kind, it has the biggest motor harley offors, a twin 1450cc engine i think? it has EFI and is piped, i bet its pushin around 95-100hp. the thing has balls and people always have the image that these bikes are slow, there really not.

I think that if u race a 1/8 mile u have it, But in the 1/4 the Harley i think will just keep climbing in speed, and will burn you on top end!!!

u should definitely make it shorter, that harley will it 100+ in the 1/4, but its a lot heavier so anything shorter the yamaha should win, also depends on this harley guy, and how good of a rider he is, those hellz angelz are usually big guys too, so that makes a difference also

Negative man, stock Fat boys are around 60hp. The highest HP stock Harley is a Screaming Eagle Road King, 1550CC's and around 95hp.

My uncles fat boy puts out about 135hp and should be running low 12's in the quarter. Good luck running a low 12 on a banshee without running stock extreme gearing. The banshee's I race at the track (quads usually only race the 8th mile) are just about maxed out when they hit the 8th mark.

If his Harley has a lot of goodies it could be well over 200hp and run 10's. "Maxed out" doesn't really mean anything.

The biggest problem is that you will have hit your top speed by an 8th of a mile, and that's where the Harley will blow by you. Out of the hole, unless he's got nitrous or running some alternative fuel, you'll spank him. I ride with Harleys all the time with my Honda V45 Sabre, and I can take every one of them without too much trouble, until I get up to the higher speeds. Harleys have a lot of torque, but unless they're built to the gills, not much on RPM's.

harley makes a 1550cc but i think it only comes on the screamin eagle editions unless the bike is special ordered

I think the banshee would win hands down! Heres how it would go down, They take off and the banshee gets the hole shot. 20 ft into it and the harley starts to catch him. Then the harley leaks all the oil out and seizes the motor. The harley rider has to rebuild the motor while the banshee takes the win! I dont think Ive ever seen a harley go 1/4 mile without somthing breaking.

Depends on what kinda Harley.My parents have 6 and I have 1. The banshee could beat my 883 hands down but my dads V-rod would have him cryin while pops drank the beer,that thing MOVES for a harley, my moms Fat-Boy probably could take it also but not with her on it she isnt into the whole speed thing. In case your wondering the other 4 they have are a 77 1200 Sporty my mom has a 883 also and 96 Springer Softtail (it could give the shee a run) and a 00 Ultra Classic Electra Glide.

Well I was at the Dragstrip last night and seen a Banshee run the 1\8 th in 7.03 seconds. There has beeen a couple that have run there in high 6's. The only Harley I've seen there run mid 8's. But the Japanese bikes smoke em both.

im gonna have to say the harley in the 1/4 the banshee will top out to quick and the harley just going to keep go now try racing in the 1/8 and you should win right around the 1/8 is where the banshees is going to top out

depends on the mods on the harley really, cams,heads etc. if it has the screamin' eagle 95 kit without heads or a carb then who knows. harley has a deal with jims now they are offering 113 or a 120ci motor with a harley warrenty-my spelling sucks so yeah

I used to race a car at englishtown, there was this guys at the spped shop where I used to buy all my parts from. He told me that horsepower=speed but the torque is what give you your low e.t. If harleys have alot of torque then they should be fairly quick. Now I know there a diffenece but with the big trucks some of them have 1800 ft lbs of torque but that doesn't mean it could doa 8 sec 1/4 mile. That made for pulling power. But if you had a gas engine with that kind of torque you would dominate.

Harleys, and any other V-Twin for that matter can and do have a lot of power. The torque numbers almost equal the HP numbers. There is also one hell of an aftermarket for Harley parts and go-fast goodies. I will tell you this to put things into perspective; I got my *** handed to me by a worked Harley on my R6. In the long run, I would have caught him, but up until about 120, he was way ahead. Remember that you can spray nitrous into just about anything and it will be much, much faster.
All in all, like everybody else said, Banshee would win up until a point, and then the Harley would take over.

I'm not sure who would win but i would put my bets on the Harley. To make the race more fair, put the same amount of mods the banshee has on the harley. Then see how close of a race it would be. hehe
