I would only have the K&N for riding in non-dusty, non-wet conditions. Foam filters usually work the best if you care more about reliability in dusty or wet conditions. That's my opinion, I've had both filters and I've had only bad luck with K&N and good luck with Uni's, other people have had the opposite.

I am with Toadz. Uni for any type of condition. Granted, the K&N filter flows a little better but I would rather be protected than have my motor filled with dirt.

I guess you can look at the situation kind of like un-save sex. It is better with no protection but when it gets dirty you wish you would have used proection:eek2:

Exactly. K&N's do flow a little better, you might be able to notice if you get the jetting exact, but Uni is just better protection and I'd rather have a clean 400ex than a 400ex with herpes...err dirt in the intake:eek2: .

just put an outerwears on the K&N. It will filter the big particles and is water ressistant.

A 400ex w/ herpees is not good:D Maybe an outerwear will cure that problem next time.

Where did you find a power kit for your 250X? I have been looking all over and I've been told that there is no such a thing.:huh

Use the precharger and clean the K&N after every few rides with K&N cleaning products, thats what I do and I have riden in alsmost every type weather/trail condition.
