400ex speed

Just wondering about what the top speed of a stock 400ex is? I know rider weight, wind, ability and all that have an effect, but just about how fast are they?

There is a chart that states the top speed is 65MPH. Everyone is going to have a different answer. Most likely the speed will fluctuate between 62-67MPH just depending on the quad, and what year it is I'll say.

I believe around 65-68mph.

That sounds reasonable. If you add a full pipe kit, get a diff air filter and rejet how much of a difference would it make?

I'd say maybe 2-3MPH top end? That will make you get to top speed quicker. Top end is in gearing.

True...would you lose your bottom end going up 1 tooth in the front? Assuming you have the mods i just listed?

Yes, from what I've been told...but the full system, jetting, and a new air filter will still help you on your bottom end if you are messing with the gearing.
