A beautiful day greated the racers as the next round of the Koontz Adventure Series was back again at Pheasants Run. With perfect weather and a familiar track it looked to be a battle between Micheal Mussi and Dakota Shaffer as the last race had these two riders battling each other the entire race!

Five entries in the 50cc Open class

Micheal Mussi
Dakota Shaffer
Alexandria Bunner
Matthew Bunner
Ryan Hill

The 50cc start was clean with all riders getting a decent start

I caught Dakota being pushed back to the pits and snapped his picture. He was upset with the DNF, but I managed to get a big smile out of him before he moved on.

Now this picture was "PRE" smile:p

M. Mussi walking to get his plaque. I honestly think he was mad he didnt have anyone to bang bars with the last 5 laps:p

Finishing order:

1st- Micheal Mussi
2nd- Alexandria Bunner!!! <-- Big Congrats on 2nd !!!
3rd - Matthew Bunner
4th - Ryan Hill
5th- Dakota Shaffer

A bit of wild stuff on the last lap. Ryan hill was in 4th, and on the last big hill he lost his brakes:eek: He passed BETWEEN 2nd and 3rd place while screaming down the hill....unfortunatley he stalled it and remained in 4th:p Nice save by his mom at the bottom of the hill also!

90 cc was full of good riders today. A large class and added sections of track would prove to be difficult for some.

The start was clean, however Cody Hill failed to put his new TRX90 in gear and was last off the line!

This is Cody's first race on his new honda so things like that can be expected. Here he is pictured (Yellow 90) trying to figure out whats going on!

Brandon Boso was also on a new ride today and did extremely well on it:macho

Finally in the game, Cody wasted no time shifting thru the gears and getting towards the rest of the pack!

A hard charge to the inside got him from dead last to 7th place after the first turn!!

Brandon Boso took 1st in class aboard his new ride. Thats awesome and I cant wait to see him get an overall very soon!

I didnt get the results or watch the action closely today mainly because I was paying attention to Cody and his new 90. He did really well, finishing 6th in class. He got hung up on a stump on lap 3 and on lap 4 flipped the quad on himself on a nasty hillclimb:p No worse for wear, on the same lap he hit the kill switch and it cost him several spots from what I could see. He would have been in the top 5 im pretty sure.

The Youth race as always was a blast to watch! Congrats to all the riders that participated in today's event!

Pappy, Great pictures once again. I'm glad to see these little guys get some coverage. Because they desirve it. There are some excellant riders in these youth classes. And Cody is one of them. He just needs some luck, like the off switch problem. But when you all get that new Honda dialed in look out.Your right about Michael he was mad that he didn't have someone to beat bars with him. He said he want's to race with the 90's.

trx90863:

yep, the course the 90's ran was a bit bigger then any previuos course we have raced on. I didnt have a problem with the course, but they need to have spotters at the bad areas ahead of time. One 90 flipped way down a hill with no injury to the rider. I liked the longer course and added obstacles, we will be much better prepared by the next race for that type of course just incase they add sections at another race.

Arctic Cat Dad:

haha...I knew he wanted a race! That kid has heart! Cody will snap in on the honda soon enough. I told him I thought he did pretty good for going from auto to a shifter quad. thats a pretty big change for someone to learn especially in a racing enviorment. We have the pipe and rims coming in so i expect that to help a ton, along with some front Elka shocks and a steering stabilizer.
