My buddy got a new pred. last weekend, and I wanna go riding with him this weekend. But he doesnt want to go becuase he wants to break it in first (he rode it a bit last weekend and this week)

How long should he break it in for? He also said he wont go past 3rd gear, because he thinks its bad for it ?

Is it ok to go past 3rd? or what?

10 hours, all gears, don't go past half throttle. a couple of blips is fine but don't mash it down for extended periods of time.

that should do it :D

according to the people at polaris the motor is ready to run after an hour or so of being broken in. Change the fluids and rip on it.

It seems those who havent done there routine maint. have been the ones to have so much trouble. The 03 models have had some issues with gears, but our was completly town down last month...Its flawless......:) Do what you manual says on your break in period and do the heat cycles......
