Mine doesn't use any between changes. My buddies does. My my other buddy has a CRF450R and it uses a **** load, top off before every ride.

Yup that is normal on the CRFs. At the Honda update class when they first came out they said it will use from the upper mark to the lower mark in 4 hours of rideing. It is mainly due to the single compression ring.

i just noticed this too....before i left today for my ride it was on the F now its below the bottom line...WTF!?!?! also, how often should I change my piston rings & adjust the valves? should i adjust the valves after break in 15 hous of riding or just leave them...I dotn know hopw to do any of this & will have to take it to the dealership b/c I cant trust anyone else to do it right

FYI,

Mine isn't using that much at all. I have only changed the oil and filter one time so far and since then I currently have about 10 or 11 hours since that first oil change. I put the oil at the High Mark and it has only gone down to the middle of the window and I haven't added any. Still using the Honda GN4 10W-40.
By chance are you guys doing an oil change and not starting it to let it run for a few minutes and then topping it off again. When I did my first oil & filter change, after starting it up, the oil disappeared from the window so I had to add several more ounces to bring it up to the High mark on the window. Later Scott

Same here ,added a little as level went down after oil change and start up. Information from tech sources say engine will use oil under hard use and this is normal!:D

During break in they use more oil so don't worry, you have to give it time for the piston rings to seat in properly then it will use less oil.

Actually it didn't feel like it made any difference over stock and it is a little smaller than the hrc. I have the sparks cam coming in this week, i can't wait to try it out.

i've ridden one that has the hrc kit and it is fast, but i want the bottom and midrange that the sparks offers. the hrc has about one more horsepower on topend.
