Oil??

I was wondering what would be the be the best kind of oil to use for break in on a new piston(I know non-synthetic) and then just a good oil to keep using?

honda GN4 10w-40....then after about 3 oil changes go to synthetic mobile 1 red cap ;)

after you've gone threw a few oil changes go to Ams Oil synthetic they make good stuff (0w-40 for all year around) or (10w-40) if you do more summer riding or change your oil from one to the other for summer and winter

what oil filter you guys use with mobil 1? also i just got a 04 400ex. did first oil change n put in honda hp4.( think thats wut it is called) is it ok, y arent u allowed to use synthetic first oil change

run the Honda 10w-40 to set the rings when you are breaking it in. After the 3rd oil change or so, switch to Mobile 1 Red cap 15w-50:)

the synthetic oil is NOT supposed to be used after your first oil change.. would of at leat waited untill the 3rd but im changin to mine on the 5th..i used to run it on my 400ex. the hp4 isnt even meant for four strokes I dont think...you may or may not have some major engine problems soon

i didnt ride it yet with the hp4 in it. Im going to change it again n put gn4 in it. to be on the safe side. now how long should i wait to put mobil 1 red cap in?

wait untill the 4th oil change or 10-12 tanks of gas b4 I would change to synthetic...you could go before or could go later but thats just what I woud do to be safe...

Its a 4-stroke honda oil, how is it not meant for 4-stoke engines???
