Shocks setup for wider arms on shorter arms

What would be the result if you had shocks that were set up for 3+ arms and ran them on stock width arms?

stiffer, or softer?

if they are setup for 140-150lbs rider on 3+
and put them on stock width arms for 175lbs rider ?
