View Full Version : water in steering stem???

i have a 400 ex and after my race sun i noticed my steering stem was full of water and my breather was trying to suck it up?i think that might have been my prob. for the last three weeks????has this happened to any one else and if so wat to do???

I think I have that same problem. Whenever I ride a wheelie water is splattered all over my gas tank and seat but I'm positive it's not gas b/c it doesn't smell like anything.

If your vent hose is under the water in your stem it WILL cause problems. I've had that happen and spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my quad wouldn't run before a XC race. At the last minute we found the stem to be full of Frozen water (winter race) and that caused the quad to not run.

Learn from our mistakes people...:o

Its jsut rain water...shouldent cause any problems in less it gets in tank lid hose

Pull your tank vent hose out of your steering stem and route it someplace else. Problem solved...

very common problem i just dump my bike back on it's grab bar everynow and then and the the water stem drain it's just water that collects there from riding rain and washing your bike
