View Full Version : low end bog?

I installed an HRC type endcap and took off my airbox lid. I put in a 185 main and turned the air screw out to 2.5 turns. I'm getting a slight bog (hardly noticeable but more so than stock) right off the bottom, but it runs great from the mid to top. I also left the needle at the stock position. Just wondering what my next step should be? Should I move the clip on the needle? What about a different needle?

I'd raise the needle a position or so and try truning the pilot screw out another half turn or so.

I think he ment the air mixture screw. ;)

So raising the clip on the needle will make it a little leaner? I'll give that a try and see what happens.

Just an update. Actually I misunderstood you originally, but after re-reading your post and thinking about it I realized I was probably a little lean. I moved the clip down one notch (moving the needle up) and the bog is virtually gone. I still may go with a different needle but am much happier with the performance now. Thanks again.
