there's a new virus out that's causes your computer to shut down when on the internet , it's only for windows xp and 2000

Got infected today while computer was on and I was at work, what a pain in the *** to get rid of :o

that virus has been around for awhile, i didnt have the patch so i had to erase my hard drive and start from scratch

if you run your windows update you want to install the KB835732 patch which will be under the critical updates section. If you want to check to see if you already have the patch go to add remove programs on the control panel an look for windows hotfix KB835732. To remove the virus you can download stinger from the McAfee website. Click to read about the Sasser virus and it will say to download the stinger tool.
