front brakes to tight?

i put on my new brake pads and they were really tight. I could barley push it in nuetral. So i went down the street once thinking it would loosen up allitlle bit but it didnt. So i went to take the caliper off and allmost burnt my hand because the caliper was soo hot. What is wrong?

The problem is that as the brakes wear the caliper slides out to compensate and keep the caliper centered over the rotor. This in-turn is what causes your wear indicator to move.
When installing the new pads after the piston is compressed, the caliper also has to be slid back.
What happens is that when you don't get it slid back is that as you tighten the bolts the caliper will bind sideways, this is visually noticable.
