Full pipe, stock air filter (:( ), no airbox lid at 4500 ft (Sand Mountain, NV).

Can someone get me in the ballpark for jetting. From reading other posts it seems like just taking off the lid will make a big difference over stock.

I was thinking about starting off at 160 because of the altitude and stock filter. Is that a good starting point???

Sand mountain is a bad place to go lean. I say start with 185 and check the plug after a run up the hill. Also consider a 50% race gas mix. Hot dry air and soft sand promote detonation. I changed my jet three times last trip to sand mountain.

190 Main, middle clip, or one richer, and stock pilot, air fuel.
Thats what I run at 4800 feet, basically same set up.

Do you have the full HRC kit installed? What is your jetting setup?

I installed the pipe and took the lid off. Largest jet I have is a 175 (going to get some bigger ones tomorrow). Testing at 1400 ft, 80 degrees. Seemed pretty good. Think I am a little on the lean side since it was popping a bit on deceleration. Hard to tell much in my neighborhood though, cause I can't really rip on it.

Where is the clip I need to adjust?

clip is on needle in middle of slider located under top cap. pull spring up and remove clip retainer then push needle up and out.
