Another shock ?

My friend has a brand new 03 Predator, on the 2nd ride out I hit him with some gravel and nicked the shaft of the front shock.Now after we rode this last weekend its leaking oil,can we fix this cheap or does it need to be rebuilt?Is this common on shocks ,I see alot of guys with aftermarket equip. and no shock covers are they just not worried?Its a Fox shock if that makes a dif.THANKS IN ADV!!

I think you will need to get a new shaft for it. I am not possitive but preety confident, you might be able to sent that shaft somewhere and have it re chromed. I don't know. As long as there is a chip in the shaft it will cause the shock o leak oil by tearing up the seal!
