A bout a mile into the woods I got pushed into a tree, did a superman with no seat grab. Got started again, was passing people in the creek section left and right. Just stayed in the creek with the hammer down (gotta love tireballs). Then I took an outside line next to a creek, !#@$ slam. The dumbass that I was passing did not turn and t-boned me into the creek off of a 4 foot bank. I laied in the creek for a while under the quad, got out from under it, got it turned over. Then got it stuck in the creek trying to get out. Took a break, then Bradley decided he wanted to visit the same spot for a while. Then I watched you (Jeff) go by 2 times, by that time 2 other peoples quads were dead, and it took all 3 of us to get my quad unstuck. Then I took off made it to the first check point, and didn't look back after that. I started passing people with all of the alternte lines it was hard to tell which way you needed to go at times, but I finished my first and only lap in 2 hours and 14 minutes.

I had a blast, I only quit racing about 10 times.

See you all at the next one.

Does anyone know which would be a better day as a spectator....Saturday or Sunday?

Also.....does anyone know what the gate fee is to come and watch?

Thanks guys.....

Meek, Man do I feel like a boob, I stared right at you thinking that looks like meek, but I wasn't thinking that you wore glasses, plus every quad look the same out there. I had a tow strap with me too. Next time hollar.

Hell, don't feel bad. I slid down a hill backwards and just kept spinning on the leaves, that killed at least 40 minutes.

Than at the end of my second lap, I just missed the checker flag by 2 minutes. Carrie Jo stated she would give me credit for the lap.

Those tunnels were cool.

Theres a bunch of those tunnels in that area. Years ago that area was kinda a free for all for riding and tunnels were safer then playing frogger on the highway!! Because I spent alot of time riding and racing in this area, i really got a kick out of the GNCC track going through them. I ran the AM race last year, and afterwards I told my buddys in the PM race about the tunnels, they thought I was joking!!:)

The Rausch area is unique for racing. It'll be interesting if it rains.

cletusEX
05-03-2004, 11:29 AM
How long are the tunnels. I'm kinda afraid I'll get clastrophobic if their too long or there is a back up in them. I don't do well in small spaces.

How about that open mine before the first tunnel. That would be fun!:D

Cletus, last year the first tunnel, which was rocky, got filled up with steam. Even with head lights visibility was less than ten feet. If it is foggy this year that could happen again.

JEff, keep up the rain dance!!!

I was running in top 15 or so, and was moving up when I went over the bars. Kinda funny that I coulnd't hardley get stopped all day, and one little rotor bolt sent me over the bars like some rag doll. Nobody had a freaking tool, I skied it out for about a half a lap then finally gave up after becoming exhausted....the conditions were awesome...I LOVE mud. I had to wait till last call so they could take me and the quad up one-by with the front end all locked up. owell. Loctite and some wrenching this week, rain.rain.rain.rain.rain next, and everybody watch out...I am looking for morning podium.

AJR400EX will be sportin the new nerfs thanks to the Quadshop.

I know how Meek and POPO feel. I've never been stuck so many times in my life. I hope it doesn't rain.

I finished my second lap after the scorers went in the trailer. I had to yell my number to them. They said they are adding the lap, woo hoo, I get to move up a notch.

Also don't forget that there is a EXriders.com Group Ride being held at the Rausch Creek MX ATV Park the whole weekend. I really hope alot of guys will stay around and hang out Saturday Night and ride Sunday Morning together on the trails and MX tracks.

It should be alot of fun, and I am looking forward to it. I will be arriving Friday Afternoon at the GNCC track and probably need a ride over to the MX Park to see who all showed up.

I will have discount tickets to the Group ride with me and you will get a free Rausch Creek T-shirt with them.

I know that it won't be at the same location as last year, but I didn't know exactly where it was going to be.

The tickets are $30.00 at the track or $27.50 in advance. They are normally $35.00.

That sounds exciting!!! hhhmmm wonder where it'll be???

the terrain on last years track is typical for this area. It was actually a lil light on the rocks compared to most of the woods in this area. In all honesty, lets hope for a bit of rain!!! U guys don't want no parts of this black coal dust when its dry!!!!! It would make Ohio a few years ago look safe!!! FYI the ground in that area does not soak up a lot of water....so basically if it rains the water is all you'll have to worry about, it won't get real slimy and sticky like Kentucky. It will just stain your face and entire bike black for months!!!!

Admin
05-04-2004, 11:59 AM
The track will be on the same side as last year, but it will be several more miles down the road. Rausch Creek has 16,000 acres of land to use and it is 11 miles wide:eek:

I don't expect we will have any tunnels either this year, which I won't miss.

bad news...

after takin my 400 for the 1st long ride again yesterday after puttin it back together... i checked the oil today... very little oil in the tank... wtf so i went down talked to my dad... he told me that when he and my friend put in the spark plug for me they dropped some dirt down the hole that was around my old spark plug they didn't see into my cylinder... they didn't tell me because they knew i'd want to rip the whole motor apart and clean it out (i'm picky about that kinda stuff and they figured it'd be ok)... so i ran it with a cylinder full of dirt yesterday... top end is ruined now... i'm burning oil... cylinder and piston are probably ruined...

i called the guy that works on my motor... he said he has 5 motors ahead of me and can't even look at it for 3 - 4 weeks... i can't ride it like it is bc i'll have to add oil every 15 mins... so i won't be at rausch... god why didn't they freakin tell me they got dirt in the motor i'll try to pull a miracle and go but i don't think its gonna happen...

i may stop out just to check out the gncc... but we'll see:( :(

Take the engine out and try and fix it yourself. It maybe something very easy. Worst case, you just buy a few gaskets which cost $25.00.

Best way to learn is just by doing it.

It will just stain your face and entire bike black for months!!!!

Kinda like Pine Grove dirt, NEVER can clean it all off.

Best way to learn is just by doing it.

Sounds like a new bore, possible sleeve, all gaskets and rings are gonna need to be purchased...:(

doibug i wish it was that easy... when ur 17 and u live by ur fathers rules of don't touch the motor theres really nothing i can do... i tried but we just got in a huge fight and i don't really need that so i gotta follow the rules... i don't like em but i gotta live by them...

rico it has a light smoke when u 1st start it for a few seconds... then if u put ur hand by the exhuast and hit the gas for 2 seconds ur hand is black... it almost seems like its blowing oil out instead of burning it... i'm not 100% sure bc i am not super smart with 4 strokes... i know enouf but not this kinda stuff...

I don't remember EVER gettting a last place.

I deserve the comment though....cause I am a ton better rider than what I have shown lately.

Man I am tired and it has been along couple months....

After all the trashing I have taken, my fat ***** is running 5times a week now and hitting the cardio workouts 3 times a week. I hope to be in alot better shape soon....

Rausch I will be back in A....my goal is to be top notch for the 12hr.....I promised someone that he wouldn't be dissapointed, and will be proud to have me as a rider this year. I guess I just needed some goals...and all of you guys low blows are even more motivation :) I love bring the heat on myself.

No more slouching....and I still ain't kidding about that podium....

The sunday sparta race was cancelled do to parking problems. They will only delay do to lightning or tornado. The Penton last year was a down poor during the race and they raced it any way.

Isn't that the same reason they cancelled the Sparta bike race on Sunday? No, they cancelled the bike race because the pits were impassible, it wasn't even raining that day. They will delay the race if there is lightning.
