Can anyone tell me how to shorten the HMF exhaust on my quad? I've got the 3 rivets drilled out where the end cap goes to but the end part won't come out.... Anyone know how to do this?

Dont take this the wrong way - I'm not trying to be a smartass. Shortening the exhaust makes the quad well over 105DB. Do you know how far the sound from a 105DB 4 stroke carries? More and more riding areas and tracks are being closed down due to extremely loud 4 strokes. For what? 1/10th of a horse power? If you need that 1/10th of an HP so desperately just spend some time jetting correctly and keep your air filter clean.

I agree BUT, this is for ON TRACK APPLICATIONS ONLY. I should've cleared that up earlier. Do you know how to shorten it tho? There are 2 reasons im doing it. I snapped my grab bar on my old Warrior and crushed the stock pipe which was no biggy and im doing it for looks.

Who cares where you are riding. I have heard of at least 3 examples of TRACKS being closed down due to 4 stroke noise. Tracks that had been opened for years prior to the thumper craze.

Just lengthen your grab bar an inch or 2. Weld a bar onto it. Noise issues are seriously getting out of hand, and if it keeps up with these 105, 107, even 110db pipes, more and more tracks will close down.

I think it looks good. And I've got news, loud quad or not. The MAN has targeted ATV's since the mid 80's. I'm not saying loud exhaust are good, but the haters think ATV's are a dangerous threat. Look at all those loud Harleys they cops do very little about. Those are loud. Face it, lots of people hate quads. Where I live the people who ride snowmachines hate quads, dirtbikers hate quads, etc.. They could care less about my exhaust, they just dislike ATV's period.
